Dear Triton Faithful,
Frank Kling and I retired from broadcasting Friday Night Live this year. It is time to pass the torch. It has been a great run. We will miss all of the Triton football players and their wonderful families. Thank you so much to all of our sponsors and supporters of Friday Night Live. Our success over these last 20 years is based on all of you!
In 2004, myself and two other Freshmen football coaches Ben Villa and Rodney Runulfson, developed a program to broadcast San Clemente High School Varsity Football LIVE over the internet. At that time, there was no other football internet broadcast in the area. A few years later, Rodney retired and in 2013 Ben Villa passed away suddenly.
My partner Frank Kling saved the broadcast by joining Friday Night Live in 2013. He was instrumental in making Friday Night Live the outstanding and well-known broadcast that it is today.
This year, I put together a new FNL broadcast team for this 2024 football season. Rich Buffum, a local well-known Triton football player from the late 90's, is the play-by-play announcer. San Clemente high school student Timothee Bernardin Bigle (Frenchy) who joined FNL in 2022 is still part of the broadcast team. He has done an outstanding job filming games over the past two years, and another SCHS student, Mason Steinorth, will be joining in this season. Both will work the video, computer and live chat during the game.
It has truly been an honor broadcasting Friday Night Live for the past 20 years. "GO Tritons"
And on that note, "WE ARE OUT"
